Standard Issue Instruments - Tough Watches for Tough Operators

It's 0300hrs, you're 25 clicks over the Cambodian border, neck deep in river water and you're about to put a six man ambush on an NVA supply boat. You're a MACV-SOG officer working with an 8 man SEAL team and they're waiting on the opposite river bank. Intel says the boat is going to pass into the ambush zone at 0302hrs and at exactly that moment both you and the SEALs will attack. Synchronise watches.

During the Vietnam War, operations like this happened every day and due to the unique nature of the combat zone, military equipment was put to the test in some of the wettest, hottest and down right dirtiest environments on Earth. This caused countless problems for the American forces and their gear. The watches worn by Special Forces operators in the 60s and 70s are a perfect example of how the Americans were able to over come the difficulties posed by life in the Jungle.

Huckberry have just designed and launched their own line of watches inspired by those worn by the Special Forces in the Vietnam war. They are a an idealized version of the classic tool watch — a minimalist, standard-issue timekeeper designed with the best components for 'go-anywhere' dependability. These watches are an affordable classic with great looks and bulletproof reliability.

Like the timekeeping legends that came before, these watches are built with surgical-grade 316L stainless steel and topped off with a scratch-proof sapphire crystal. At the heart of this corrosion-resistant steel case ticks a super-reliable Swiss quartz Rhonda movement. Topside, the dial is finished with bright, C3 Superluminova for maximum legibility, but left unbranded or 'sterile' — a subtle nod to the gear issued to those flying deep into enemy territory.

There are 2 different versions available, the Field Navigator and the Pilot Mission Timer, both with functional bezels and supplied with a choice of rugged NATO straps.

Features

> Surgical grade 316L Stainless Steel case
